Hi! I’m Ashley, a writer and communications consultant helping purpose-led entrepreneurs craft stories that resonate. I grew up among the mountains and beaches of B.C., but now Hamilton, Ontario is home.
I spent the bulk of my career working in agency public relations at Yulu PR for socially impactful organizations like Red Bull Amaphiko, Genus Fossil Free, Vancouver Farmers Markets and more. While at Yulu, it was an honour to have a part in the development of Impact Relations, a new subset of PR devoted to social impact storytelling. I am the founding managing editor of Impact Relations.org’s monthly newsletter, The Agenda.
While settling in Steeltown, I’ve been putting down roots serving as the communications lead for a successful campaign for the 2019 federal election, and by helping to get a climate action group off the ground. Seeing the dearth of safe spaces for the city’s queer community, I’ve been working with a small group of dedicated organizers to establish the Steel City Inclusive Softball Association. Hopefully coronavirus won’t sideline our whole inaugural season this year!
I founded my consultancy, Letts Creative Communications, in 2019. Some of my favourite personal writing topics are my reimagining of the millennial dream, small space living, human interest stories, and relishing the beauty of a world that seems, well, kind of doomed sometimes!
